Does anyone know international law regarding an American moving to France for school?
I have been seeing the same guy for the past 2 years, and he’s a French citizen. He was in the US as an international scholar, and was forced to go home. I want to remain together, but we are unsure of what we have to do to do this. I can go to university there for learning french – which fully-extended, I can remain at the school for probably 2 years. He’s trying for his degree to be able to return to the US for work/residency, but we feel that was just can’t wait that long.
FYI, I am gay, and so we can’t get married.
)
Trying to find anything about this on the internet is difficult (so far, anyway).
Contact the office of French Ambassador to the US , they should be able to point you in the right direction.

The best place to GCSE as an adult?
I did GCSE in school cus I was stupid, but I want to do math, English and I hope that science, im 23 and from north London, so I have no idea where to look for places to do this? I know there are courses of home im bad at math and are not sure about the other IM or could try a college course but it is hard to find: (
Good for you. I returned to college as a mature student and is the best I've done. I was scared the first day but we met some great people and I loved it. I think there is something to be said for learning as a student mature, for example, are there because they want to be there! Would a local research and find a suitable course. The great thing about college is everyone is treated equally and the support is great. It is a base and gives a small taste of what Uni would be if you want to go further. Take the plunge and go for it. I wish all the luck!
:)

Can someone suggest some video and interactive websites I could use in an adult ESL class?
I work with students 35+ in the basic English course I’m teaching. They recently asked if I could incorporate some video into the course….such as easy conversations, greetings, asking for directions, descriptions etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Depending on the level of proficiency, you could start with Mr. Bean videos. There’s very little spoken English and LOTS of body language. My students love to take turns narrating the action to each other.
There are many movies that students can follow in small segments. Some of my favorites are BIG, My Best Friend’s Wedding, and The Straight Story.
TV sitcoms, like Jerry Seinfeld and Friends have a lot of one-on-one conversation and you can use a clip to reinforce a certain skill.
I have also used a commercial educational series called Crossroads Cafe.
Ultimately, if YOU like the movie or show, your students will probably like it too. Just be sure to give them plenty of vocabulary support and keep the clips short.
