Traditional Japanese Drama At The Kabuki-Za
Japan is a nation that is well known for its rich traditions and unique culture. Many of its art forms have gained recognition worldwide and have a following in almost every country. Despite its popularity among the locals, most tourists miss out on the chance to witness a traditional Japanese theatre performance. Therefore, the Kabuki-za Theatre in Tokyo is an attraction that anyone who is interested in art and culture should not miss.
Kabuki-za Theatre which is located in Ginza, Tokyo, is a cultural hotspot in Japan, being the main place for traditional Kabuki theatre performances. The original wooden building was first built in 1889 in the traditional Japanese architectural style, which is evident by its distinctive façade. In the following years, the theatre was destroyed a few time by fire and Allied bombing raids.
Today, the Kabuki-za theatre holds traditional theatre performances daily for appreciative audiences. The traditional kabuki drama form is still quite popular in Japan and is highly stylized, with elaborate make-up and costumes being worn by the performers. The word kabuki when loosely translated into English means “bizarre theatre”. This is a somewhat accurate description of the highly stylized fusion of dance and drama that goes on onstage.
Following the Second World War, the Kabuki heater went through a bleak period, but is today experiencing a renaissance fuelled by the nation’s desire to rediscover its cultural roots. A handful of traditional theaters still exist in places like Osaka, Kyoto and of course Tokyo, today these locations are considered to be the home of Japanese traditional drama.
For a tourist enjoying Tokyo accommodation, a kabuki performance is something that must be experienced. Somerset Azabu East offers serviced apartment Tokyo, located close to the Kabuki-za theatre and allows its guests to witness these mesmerizing performances.

Ukraine Woman – What Makes Them Look For Love Abroad?
These facts partially explain why so many Ukraine women are looking for relationships abroad. It is not that there are no men in their native country; they simply want to start a new and better life.
Ukraine is relatively big compared to many of the other European countries. It became part of the huge Soviet Union with all positive and negative effects of this and officially became a separate republic in 1991. During the Soviet years and the bad governmental politics, the country faced big challenges and problems.
Private property was limited and any private initiative was banned. Later the new government could not deal with the modern economy tempo and the country sank to poverty. Even today the political situation is unclear and most people are not satisfied with their governors.
Typically a Ukraine woman is well educated and speaks more than two languages. The country is bilingual and people speak both Ukrainian and Russian. In the last years English, German and other western languages are taught at school too. Young women go to university as soon as they finish high school. There are many good specialists especially in the National Taras Shevchenko University Of Kyiv and National Technical University Of Ukraine Kiev Polytechnic Institute – both leaders in professional education.
Unfortunately good education does not guarantee a job in an economy pressed by inflation and limited investments. You will be surprised to learn how many girls take their bachelor or masters degrees in science, economy or philology, only to become waitresses or shop assistants working literally for pennies on the dollar. Naturally girls are disappointed and want to go abroad where they can put their knowledge into practice and be respected by their employers.
Usually these women have already been abroad. There are many companies which hire people for the so called Work & Travel Summer Programs – young people from the universities are given the chance to work as washers, cleaners or maids in big restaurants or hotel chains in the United States, UK or Spain.
Though these jobs are not prestigious, every normal girl prefers them because they are better paid than a manager position in their local country. A popular slogan from ad-campaign of those Work & Travel says: We are looking for a maid with a salary of a boss.
Women who have not been abroad on the other hand have heard a lot about the life there. They may have relatives of friends who have moved to western countries and they are also looking for the right match abroad. In addition they are feeling sick of local men who they know in detail, know their cheap tricks and attitude.
Of course love is not a mirage and the typical Ukraine woman will make everything possible to prove her feelings. These ladies are not that desperate and would not try to lie you that they like you if they do not. Indeed many of them are trying to get married abroad in order to have legal right to stay and work in the foreign country, but these are rare exceptions.
There is no intelligent woman on this planet who would take a step to marriage abroad if she does not have feelings for the man or if she believes that after the marriage she can simply take her visa and start her own life. However, you are the other side in this international relationship are and you can see how everything is going before asking her to marry you.
What happens next is up to you..

How much credit do you think I can get from courses at Goethe Institute in German?
Hi, I am planning on attending the Goethe Institute in Germany this summer for two months and then hopefully plan to get German credit at my home college. My home college allows Credit by Examination using the CLEP test and also have their own tests.
The Goethe Institute has Levels A1 – C2 equivalent to CERF. I guess my question is how many credits of German do you think is attainable from two intensive months of German immersion courses? I would consider myself a definite beginner as it is, now.
If anyone has any experience with this type of thing or the CLEP tests or Goethe Institutes please let me know!
Thanks,
Ryan

Bikes
motorcycle or motorbike is a single-track, two-wheeled motor vehicle powered by an engine. Styles of motorcycles vary depending on the task for which they are designed, such as long distance travel, navigating congested urban traffic, cruising, sport and racing, or off-road conditions. In many parts of the world, motorcycles are among the least expensive and most widespread forms of motorised transport.
The inspiration for arguably the first motorcycle was designed and built by the German inventors Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach in Bad Cannstatt (since 1905 a city district of Stuttgart) in 1885.[1] The first petroleum-powered vehicle, it was essentially a motorized bicycle, although the inventors called their invention the Reitwagen (“riding car”).
However, if one counts two wheels with steam propulsion as being a motorcycle, then the first one may have been American. One such machine was demonstrated at fairs and circuses in the eastern U.S. in 1867, built by Sylvester Howard Roper of Roxbury, Massachusetts.[2]
In 1894, Hildebrand & Wolfmüller became the first motorcycle available for purchase.[3] In the early period of motorcycle history, many producers of bicycles adapted their designs to accommodate the new internal combustion engine. As the engines became more powerful, and designs outgrew the bicycle origins, the number of motorcycle producers increased.
Until the First World War, the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world was Indian, producing over 20,000 bikes per year. By 1920, this honour went to Harley-Davidson, with their motorcycles being sold by dealers in 67 countries, until 1928 when DKW took over as the largest manufacturer.
After the Second World War, the BSA Group became the largest producer of motorcycles in the world, producing up to 75,000 bikes a year in the 1950s. The German company NSU Motorenwerke AG held the position of largest manufacturer from 1955 until the 1970s.
From the 1960s through the 1990s, small two-stroke motorcycles were popular worldwide, partly as a result of East German Walter Kaaden’s engine work in the 1950s.[4]
Today, the Japanese manufacturers, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha dominate the motorcycle industry, although Harley-Davidson still maintains a high degree of popularity in the United States. Recent years have also seen a resurgence in the popularity of several other brands sold in the U.S. market, including BMW, Triumph and Ducati.
Outside of the USA, these brands have enjoyed continued and sustained success, although Triumph, for example, has been re-incarnated from its former self into a modern world-class manufacturer. In overall numbers, however, the Chinese currently manufacture and sell more motorcycles than any other country and exports are rising. The quality of these machines is asserted to be somewhat lower than their Japanese, European and American counterparts.
Also, the small-capacity scooter is very popular through most of the world, and the Piaggio group of Italy, for example, is one of the worlds largest producers of two-wheeled vehicles. The scooter culture has, as yet, not been in adopted widely in North America.
In November 2006, the Dutch company E.V.A. Products BV Holland announced that its diesel-powered motorcycle, the Track T-800CDI, achieved production status.[5] The Track T-800CDI uses a 800 cc three-cylinder Daimler Chrysler diesel engine. Other manufacturers, including Royal Enfield, had been producing diesel-powered bikes since aThe chassis (or frame) of a motorcycle is typically made from welded aluminium or steel (or alloy) struts, with the rear suspension being an integral component in the design. Carbon-fiber and titanium are used in a few very expensive custom frames.
The chassis includes the head tube that holds the front fork and allows it to pivot. Some motorcycles include the engine as a load-bearing (or stressed) member; this has been used all through bike history but is now becoming more common.
Oil-in-Frame (OIF) chassis, where the lubricating oil is stored in the frame of the motorcycle, was used for Vincent motorcycles of the fifties, and for a while during the 1970s on some NVT British motorcycles. It was widely unpopular and generally regarded as a bad idea at the time. Today it is a widely used idea on “thumpers” (single-cylinder four-strokes) that usually have a dry-sump lubrication requiring an external oil tank. It has since gained some cache in modern (2006) custom bike world too because of the space saving it can afford and the reference to an earlier era.[7] Buell motorcycles employ a similar design – the oil is held in the swingarm, while the fuel is held in the frame.
A motorcycle is broadly defined by law in some countries for the purposes of registration, taxation or licensing riders as a two-wheel motor vehicle “fit to drive.” Other countries distinguish between mopeds and other small bikes and the larger, more powerful vehicles. In Canada and some U.S. jurisdictions, three-wheeled motor vehicles fall under the auspices of motorcycle regulations.
In some jurisdictions, the term “motorcycle” includes trikesIn the UK, the rules on which motorcycle may be ridden by whom are complex.[20] A “moped”, which can be ridden at age 16, has a maximum design speed not exceeding 50 km/h (30 mph) and engine capacity no greater than 50 cc. A “learner motorcycle”, which can be ridden from age 17, has an engine up to 125 cc with a power output not exceeding 11 kW.
In the UK, a “large motorcycle”, which can only be ridden by a person age 21 or older with two years experience on a learner motorcycle, has a power output of at least 35 kW. Otherwise, riders are restricted to riding motorcycles with a power output of not more than 25 kW for two years after passing their initial motorcycle test.
A scooter and a motorcycleFor riders in the UK over age 21 there is a direct access route to gaining a licence to ride a large motorcycle. This allows somebody with no motorcycle experience to train and pass a test in around five days. Nevertheless, all motorcycle riders in the UK must first take a one-day compulsory basic training (CBT) course, regardless of which class of motorcycle they intend to ride.
In New Zealand, “learner” and “restricted” motorcycles need only have a 250 cc engine capacity. This distinction draws some criticism, as it allows 15-year-old learner riders to operate bikes capable of reaching speeds in excess of 250 km/h.
The laws of some countries allow anyone with a car licence to legally ride mopeds not exceeding 50 cc in capacity, meaning that they do not need to show any competency in handling such a vehicle.
The laws and regulations for legal moped usage in the U.S. vary by state.[21] The specifics of the motorcycle and moped laws in the U.S. can be obtained from each individual state’s Department of Motor Vehicles’ websites.

You find this and other email adresses for the german classes by going on the homepage for the cologne volkshochschule, look on the left side, click on “Volkshochschule”, then “Kontakt” and then in the middle part of the page you see “Sprachen”. Which language should I learn?
I plan on embarking a series of intensive courses and an immersion to get a certain language up to at least a c1-level of fluency. I narrowed the choices down to 4…..and I really can’t decide LOL. Hence I’m asking random people to help me since I have to make the decision in 3 hours.
1.) Russian
2.) Czech
3.) Hungarian
4.) Chinese
state the reason why as well:)
If you plan on using it for career purposes, I recommend Chinese or Russian as they would be the ones you come across most.
But if it’s just for the purposes of learning a new language, my choice would probably be between Russian and Hungarian. I’d say probably Russian. No particular reason really, I just like it

Brazil, Not Only For Soccer, But Golf
We all know the host of 2016 Olympics, Rio de Janeiro of Brazil is a city full of football players and fans. Pele and Ronaldo are heroes to generations of Brazilian sports fans. Tiger Woods may be next.
Golf is one of the fastest growing sports in this soccer-mad country. Brazilians of all ages, incomes and social classes are taking up the sport, which previously was played only by the country’s elite.
“The sport has grown at a very fast rate, it is amazing what has been happening,” said Alvaro Almeida, president of the Brazilian Golf Confederation. “And that’s the result of a push to make golf accessible to everybody, not only to those who have a lot of money.”
Its growth has been startling in the past five years — although still modest compared with the United States and Europe. About 25,000 Brazilians play golf on a regular basis — up from just 6,000 in 2000.
Brazil has 30 percent more golf courses, 40 percent more driving ranges and three times the number of golf stores it had five years ago. More than 30 projects for new golf courses are underway across the country — including one financed by Donald Trump and designed by Jack Nicklaus.
Media exposure also has grown sharply in this nation of 186 million people.
The magazine Golf Digest now is being published in Portuguese, Brazil’s language. Some Brazilian newspapers have added golf columnists. And for the first time, the PGA Tour is being broadcast live to Brazil on a local cable channel.
Golf officials estimate the sport today represents a $150 million market in Brazil.
“Clearly, Brazilians are beginning to show interest in the game,” said Homero Setti, who recently opened a golf store in a posh Sao Paulo shopping mall. “More and more people want to find out about the sport, and want to find out what it’s like to play it.”
Golf already has captivated World Cup winners Ronaldo and Kaka, Formula One driver Rubens Barrichello and three-time French Open champion Gustavo Kuerten. They are among a growing corps of celebrities frequently shown chipping and putting on courses across Brazil.
“This has been crucial for the growth of golf in Brazil,” Almeida said. “When people see their idols playing golf, they begin to get interested in the game, too.”
